INDIA’S COVISHIELD VACCINE TO SL TODAY (28)

COLOMBO (News 1st): A consignment of 500,000 doses of India’s AstraZeneca COVISHIELD vaccine will arrive in Sri Lanka at 11:00 am today (Jan. 28), the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 Vaccination Plan and National Development said.The vaccine will be administered to 250,000 individuals, according to Principal Adviser to the President Lalith Weeratunga who heads the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 Vaccination Plan and National Development.“We have estimated the number of healthcare workers to stand at 155,000.

At the same time, we have estimated the amount of tri-forces personnel and police officers between 115,000 and 120,000. We will administer the vaccines on these groups and then start distributing it among other individuals,”
